Job Title: Data Analyst

Salary: Circa £53,000 depending on skills and experience
What You’ll Be Doing
- Being the SHIELD data and analytics Subject Matter Expert, responsible for the design, development and exploitation of the SHIELD data and analytics strategy and data maturity
- Working with Business Unit stakeholders to develop a portfolio of reports, including tailored data visualisations to dynamic data dashboards (Reports Central, Widgets and Insight dashboarding)
- Data investigation, manipulation and complex and advanced analysis on data from different sources and varying levels of quality to support pattern finding
- Reporting on the state (quality assurance) of data, data systems and data processes and advise/lead on local improvements
- Investigates corporate data requirements and applies data analysis, data modelling and quality assurance techniques, to improve the performance or maintainability of the data estate
- Engages with client stakeholders to understand and document the existing data landscape including, Data systems & Data processes, Data sources and their limitations, Relevant Data privacy & security guidelines
- Able to analyse the suitability of existing data systems, processes, sources, and entities and define approaches to address any limitations found, including Planning, Designing technical / process data changes
Your Skills And Experiences
- Comprehensive understanding of data and analytics
- Expert level of Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, IBM Cognos, Tableau) and Expert knowledge of Excel (including Visual basic and Macros) with experience of delivering improvements in a complex business or data environment.
- Capable of communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, colleagues and customers at appropriate levels of seniority
- Effective communications skills enabling end users to interpretation and understand data analytics outputs and answer the “so what” question
- The job holder may have a good and contemporary technical understanding of safety, health and environmental management systems and tools
- The role holder will not be an SHE professional but will have a good understanding of SHE requirements (ideally)

The Project Team
SHIELD is the new SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) Enterprise tool which is being rolled out across all UK and International, replacing legacy SHE IT Tools and Systems with one system with enhanced capabilities.
Working as part of the Head Office SHIELD Project team, the Data Analyst is a brand new role and you will be supporting the SHIELD Product Owner and Business Areas to design, manage, assure, analyse and exploit data and gain insights to help improve Safety, Health and Environmental performance across the enterprise.
You will be joining an inclusive team working as a key contributor on a new project which will allow you to work across the Enterprise supporting stakeholder globally.
