The commodity manager is responsible to define the purchasing strategy for the Company and or the Division
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Strategy Development and Implementation:
Define and deploy the purchasing strategy.
Implement a roadmap that aligns with corporate and division objectives across various business lines.
Consolidate and analyze purchasing data.
Monitor market segmentation and trends.
Identify performance improvement drivers, such as operational efficiency and cost savings.
• Supplier Management:
Based on operational performance and competitiveness, define the supplier target panel for the division.
Manage sourcing for current or future business needs.
Create action plans focused on driving excellence in areas such as Lean Six Sigma, logistics flow, and layout design.
Assess and mitigate risks associated with the commodity.
• Contract Negotiation:
Negotiate long-term and global trade agreements in line with division expectations.
Focus on cost savings, liability, and accountability for performance.
Optimize working capital through logistics solutions, safety stock, vendor-managed inventory (VMI), and more.
• Supplier Performance Monitoring:
Consolidate and report on supplier performance for the commodities managed.
Support cross-purchasing initiatives within SEP or Safran Group.
Qualifications

Required Education and/or Experience
· A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Purchasing, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience in purchasing negotiations within a fast-paced manufacturing sector such as aerospace, automotive, high-tech, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
· At least 4 years of management or supervisory experience working within a matrixed organization and with international teams.
· Proven experience managing complex commodities in an international setting.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultural and geographical borders, ensuring alignment and collaboration within teams.
· In-depth understanding of how the purchasing function integrates within broader business operations, including competitors and suppliers.
· Extensive knowledge of the aerospace industry, with experience in how the Purchasing and Supply Chain functions support and contribute to overall business objectives.
Required Knowledge/Skills
· Must be a proactive leader with the ability to make decisions in complex environments.
· Proven negotiation skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain successful supplier relationships.
· Ability to identify, recommend, and implement strategic improvements in organizational structure, procedures, and workflows.
· Strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal, with the ability to convey information effectively.
· Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical and controlling capabilities.
· Proficient in managing large Excel and Access databases with extensive data mining experience.
· Experience with lean manufacturing principles, quality systems, and/or process audits.
· Experience in legal contract management and production-related commodity negotiations.
Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and international business teams.
