The successful candidates will relocate in-country to Cameri, Italy and will act as part of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics technical interface to the on-site Sub-contractor team(Ops and Maintenance) in resolving issues arising from maintenance/modification activities for the F-35 aircraft. Note: Personnel at this location fall under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA).
The preferred candidate will be Air Vehicle and Avionics/Mission Systems SME or be an emerging authority who has the skill-set to accomplish troubleshooting and analysis of F-35 Air Vehicle (AVS/Mission) Systems.
It is desired the individual also be an emerging authority in APG/Vehicle Systems (VS) and Supportable Low Observable (SLO)/Structures, with the skill set to accomplish troubleshooting/analysis of MS, VS and SLO.
Other Responsibilities Include
- Attending debriefings as required to aid in the rapid identification of emerging issues that would require company intervention to avoid aircraft downtime
- Provide training to subcontractor personnel. Must be able to work and interact with the maintainer as well as the professional engineers from other F-35 companies as a peer
- Fully and completely document all unusual operational/maintenance problems to support identifying emerging failure trends
- Initiate Action Requests (ARs)
- Identify unique operational problems that require technical, procedural or quality assurance actions to resolve
- Provide on-site assistance and training to Sub-contractor and customer personnel initiating ARs
- Participate in the development and integration of improved capability and cost saving initiatives that deliver desired capability to the Depot
- Must be willing and able to work other shifts, including weekends as needed to support depot schedule requirements
- Investigates and analyzes operational sustainment requirements and problems, to identify and recommend solutions that meet program safety, and performance standards
- Provide support for the assigned site on aircraft ground maintenance and operational limitations. Direct on-site support as requested by site manager and Mod Tech Lead (MTL). Lead and track multiple engineering efforts and provide periodic status to site manager and MTL
- Must be willing to work and interact with all levels of personnel from maintainer communities to engineers, other Military Services and companies
- Must be able to work with and communicate well both orally and written in a team environment as this position involves significant interface with subcontractor personnel at all levels
- A self-starter and have the ability to establish and maintain a library of technical documentation
- Manage and track multiple engineering and logistic support activities, providing periodic status to the customer and program
- Must be willing to travel and go on Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY's) as required to support customer requirements
- Candidates must agree to fulfill any and all Italian regulations or laws including those required of LMGI Italy
- US Department of Defense (DOD) and Italian Government mandated vaccinations may be required
- Travel to hazardous locations may be required
- Final Transferable Secret Security clearance required
- Must be able to obtain F-35 Special Program Access
