PURPOSE
This role supports the product team in implementing the product strategy and roadmap.
Your task as a product specialist is to increase the profitability of our existing products as well as developing new and innovative solutions for Heathrow’s commercial telecoms customers You will be commercially minded with an astute ability to seek out next generation and innovative technologies for the commercial telecoms customers at Heathrow, including Retail, Food and Beverage, Ground handlers, Airlines and Airport lounges
Your primary capabilities shall include technical knowledge, excellent communication and great people skills, since your role will include inter-departmental communication. You will define the product requirements based on customer needs, market analysis and industry trends. For a successful Go-To-Market, you will define the strategy together with the Marketing and Communication departments. You will create the product and help Marketing to understand the key benefits of the product or solution for different target groups. Create product, take product through HAL technical approval boards, help write technical specs, write marketing brochure, determine pricing, write business case to receive funding approval, ensure product can be invoiced and billed to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- To work closely with the Heathrow Innovation teams and align with their IT road map strategy
- To review the current Heathrow Commercial Telecoms product services and evolve their service in line with the market trends
- To represent the needs of end-users and evaluate market trends
- Ability to seek out commercially viable solutions for end customers
- To analyse the Heathrow products and demonstrate value for money whilst identifying any gaps in the service
- To work together with Heathrow IT Architects in order to gain technical approval for new products.
- To work with the SITA design team to ensure product/network migration is achievable
- To create and present product business cases to enable governance approval
- To present potential growth in the products and demonstrate any new price strategy
- To own the business strategy behind a product (both physical and digital products)
- To develop partnerships with third parties and stakeholders
- Be responsible for orchestrating the various activities associated with ensuring that a product is delivered that meets users' needs
- To work closely with the Project Managers delivering the service and handing over to the support team
- To bring together all relevant stakeholders for significant decision making
- To own the product technical specification and Commercial Telecoms Portal written content
- Be responsible for verifying that the product acceptance criteria have been met
- To collate product sales presentations for the market
- To arrange relevant product training for the sales team, back-office admin team and service support desk.

- Worked in a Sales and Marketing planning functions for small or medium service providers
- Good experience in owning and delivering projects

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent in a technical, business or marketing discipline essential
- IT & Telecom experience .
- Innovation Skills and a track record in defining market requirements and functional specifications.
- Good knowledge of Product Management, Stage Gate or other product development methodology.
- Understanding of the latest trends and innovations within the retail, airline/airport industry and relevant technology areas for the commercial telecoms customers
- A track record of delivering results in Product Management in a global business environment and within a technology solutions-based business.
