Product Owner Specialist to support product development and improvements for the applications used by our operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to Analysts in reviewing, communicating, and translating business needs for both technical and non-technical audiences and stakeholders.
- Directly work with internal and external design resources to create UX/UI experiences to support new product functionality for both informational and transactional customer needs.
- Collaborate with other Product Owners, Product Managers, and stakeholders to refine features and stories and accept completed stories, ensuring they meet all predefined criteria.
- Coordinate with other Product Owners across the organization to align cross-squad efforts and maintain coherence in product development.
- Translate product development goals into requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
- Maintain a clear roadmap in Aha! linked to outcomes/initiatives; ensure traceability from Aha! Features to Agility (VersionOne) Epics/Features/Stories.
- Attend and actively participate in agile ceremonies with the Information Technology team including backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups, sprint review/demos, and retrospectives.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to increase revenue, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Provide regular status reports to key stakeholders, sponsors, project managers, and others involved in projects.
- Play an integral role in engagement, communication, change management, feedback loops, and overall leadership visibility across the system.
- Take ownership of writing epics, features, and user stories and ensure they clearly convey the required functionality to the IT development teams.
- Provide continuous feedback during sprint demos and lead discussions to ensure effective iterations of product features.
- Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders to review product progress and outcomes.
- Work closely with stakeholders and Product Managers to contribute to the overarching product vision and strategy with data-backed ideation and iterative solutioning.
- Champion agile methodologies within the team, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
- Utilize tools like Agility and Aha! for effective product management and ensure data hygiene to track progress accurately.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Agile Product Management training and experience.
- 2-7 years of relevant work experience in product management or product development in a dynamic agile environment.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in written and oral communications and ability to produce concise, relevant documents and presentations.
- Curious mindset, willing to ask “why” until root causes of use cases are identified.
- Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Previous experience as a consultant working on application development projects.
- Strong understanding of agile practices and principles.
- Agile Product Management training and experience.
- A background in aviation.
- Airline operations experience, including dispatch and scheduling.
