When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re leading the way by helping our clients maintain compliance with environmental rules and regulations by adhering to Environmental Protection Agency, the US Air Force, State and local regulations while promoting pollution prevention.
This environmental technician position is located at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia and will be responsible for supporting Moody’s environmental compliance program.
Specific tasks include:
* Supporting operations of the Central Accumulation Point (CAP) and maintains regulatory compliance in the CAP facility and processing areas at all times.
* Supporting the EESOH-MIS installation administrator, and provides guidance to assigned specialist in the identification, handling, labeling, storage and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
* Supporting accurate waste characterizations and associated waste profiles when required.
* Enters hazardous waste identification numbers in tracking system (EESOH-MIS) and completes appropriate documentation for turn-in and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and other applicable regulations.
* Supports curbside pickup of various types of regulated and non-regulated waste from generating shops.
* Conducts hazardous waste compliance inspections of shop satellite accumulation points and operations to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations concerning hazardous waste
* Operates and maintains industrial recycling equipment in support of pollution prevention initiatives.
* Supports proper authorizations for hazardous materials throughout the installation.
* Conducts storm water outfall and facility inspections.
* Collects samples from storm water outfalls per EPA regulations.
* Collects data and creates reports Provides curbside pickup of various types of regulated and non-regulated waste from generating shops.
* Conducts hazardous waste compliance inspections of shop satellite accumulation points and operations to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations concerning hazardous waste.
* Operates and maintains industrial recycling equipment in support of pollution prevention initiatives.
* Supports maintaining regulatory compliance in the CAP facility and processing areas at all times.
* Collects data and creates reports for EPA annual and biennial reporting. * No degree is required.
* Strong familiarity with Air Force data systems such as EESOH-MIS and APIMS to include STAR and WET
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting hazardous waste operations per RCRA requirements.
* Experience collecting field samples.
* Comfortable onsite at client installation and working in a team environment.
* Must be a US citizen
* Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
* Ability to represent Jacobs through strategic and professional communication with client counterparts
* OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training
* Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
* Strong organizational skills to inventory, label and track waste containers
* Ability to safely lift, move, load, unload and transport boxes, materials and waste containers, weighing up to 50 pounds.
