Job Title: Risk & Insurance Manager

Reporting to: Head Insurance Risk
Job Summary
Facilitate and develop Swissport’s Insurance Risk Management, setting up and management of the various global insurance programs and renewals as well as providing day-to-day advice and support to Swissport’s widespread global network of affiliates in connection with their risk management, insurance coverage and claims handling needs. Support the business and Swissport’s Legal function in contract negotiations in respect to Swissport’s liability position.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head of Risk & Insurance in the implementation and management of Swissport’s international insurance portfolio
- Maintaining Swissport’s claims database and preparation of monthly reports on insurance loss ratios
- Maintenance of Swissport’s insurance policies
- Primary contact for internal and external stakeholders in daily claims notifications and any insurance related queries, including insurance clause provisions and reviews
- Primary contact for internal and external stakeholders on premium invoicing and coverage implementation, monitoring and storage of placement relevant written communication
- Premium payment and premium allocation monitoring
- Preparation of insurance financial information reports to assist with budgetary planning and forecasts
- Collecting, validating and storing claims assessment and claims release forms in accordance with internal sign off process in line with the company’s delegation of authority rules
- Collecting all insurance related information pertaining to insurance policy renewals, and co-ordinating the annual insurance renewal process
Qualifications and Competencies
- At least 5 to 7 years of working experience in (aviation liability) insurance or risk management related functions such as underwriting or claims handling within an insurer or insurance broker or within the insurance/risk management function of a larger multinational company.
- Have a very good understanding of the major classes of insurance which are key for an internationally operating company.
- Highly advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Excel and Access databases.
- In depth understanding of insurance pricing & modelling
- In depth understanding of international insurance & accounting regulatory framework
- Detailed knowledge about the procurement and handling of international insurance programmes.
- Good understanding of liability/indemnity/insurance language in contracts and ability to participate in and support contract negotiations.
- Ability to work efficiently under time pressure.
- Excellent oral and written English skills is a must (corporate language), additional languages are an advantage.
- Experience in airline, ground handling or another industrial environment is a plus.
