The opportunity
At Leonardo, as we grow the Digital Solutions PMO team we have a fantastic new opportunity for a PMO Cost Controller, to support activities and assure the portfolio of change within a growing IT organisation. You will need experience in working in a PMO team with the flexibility to carry out varied tasks across the portfolio. This role will also give opportunities to progress, providing training where needed.

The role is hybrid with the normal onsite place of work being our Bristol office (or negotiable to some other Leonardo sites), so we can work as a team when required. Some travel to other UK sites may also be required occasionally.
What You’ll Do As a PMO Analyst
- Maintain alignment of project cost to complete budgets in appropriate systems
- Provide assurance that project business cases, estimates, forecasts and actuals are accurate.
- Present all financial data in a transparent way, attends project and management review to present cost status, budget deviations and root causes
- Own the project PR process, working to agreed timescales and tracking creation of POs.
- Providing Finance practical advice, guidance and quality assurance across all projects within the IT portfolio, ensuring that the project management methodology is adhered too
- Advocate for process improvement to drive efficiencies within the team
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and other support teams in order to deliver an integrated service
- Aligns with planning to ensure forecasted cost risks are accurately captured
- Consolidation of multiple line of business inputs.
- Performing data analysis to support affordability and pricing discussions with key stakeholders around contract proposals and internal business cases.
- Longer term focus to initiate a Value Management office
What We Need From You
You really must have
- Previous experience of working within a PMO team
- Exposure to and understanding of the full project life cycle (Waterfall & Agile Methodologies knowledge)
- Demonstrable attention to detail, thoroughness and commitment to quality and accountability of own output
- Excellent communication skills – Ability to communicate information clearly, define needs and provide feedback in an timely and appropriate manner
- Prioritisation of workload and effective communication of appropriate issues and escalations
It would be nice if you had
- ERP System (SAP) experience
- Dashboard (Power BI) experience
- Experience with implementing process improvement practices
- Experienced and proven risk management capability
- Experience with SAP
- APM or PRINCE 2 certification is desirable
