** Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for an experienced Engineer to fill a one- year assignment (with the possibility of extension) in the Birmingham, AL area.
This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary. Job Title: Engineer
Work Location: Hybrid / Birmingham, AL
Requirements:
- Approximately 2 days a week of working hours to be remote and candidate must live within commuting distance Birmingham, AL (~3 days a week)
- Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering or Business degrees preferred)
- Master’s or advanced degree is a plus
- Knowledge of project management or process flows is a plus
- Knowledge of bulk electric transmission contracts, federal and state regulations of electric utilities, power systems operations, transmission planning, wholesale marketing, Generator Interconnections/Qualifying Facilities, and/or engineering economics is a plus
- Ability to understand and interpret regulatory orders, agreements, and contractual language
- Demonstrated customer-focused mindset and ability to build effective relationships with peers and customers, as well as resolve customer issues
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong motivation for quality, accuracy and timeliness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to be successful in this position
- Strong organizational skills with ability to balance multiple assignments and responsibilities
- Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite, specifically Power Apps, Power Automate, and PowerBI, is a plus
