Job Summary: The Continuous Improvement Director (The Group A&E Crane Business System Director) facilitates the establishment of Operations Excellence principles throughout the organization, including coaching and mentoring, to ensure timely completion of quality and/or cost focused projects. In conjunction with the Senior Vice President of Operations, A&E Site Leaders and CBS Facilitators across the organization , the Group A&E CBS Manager identifies the key breakthrough challenges which will accelerate the execution of operational efficiency initiatives and the implementation of Future Factory Visions. The Group A&E CBS Manager applies operational improvement tools to identify key problem drivers/root causes and achieve business process improvement to attain goals aligned with strategic Deployment Plan . Essential Functions: Lead, manage, facilitate , and drive the application of the Crane Business System (CBS) and Operational Excellence throughout the business including acquisitions , and be a relentless advocate of a culture of continuous improvement. Compile and recommend to the S VP Operations a prioritised list of projects, improvement events and actions which will address and overcome the key breakthrough challenges for the business. Develop and initiate action plans to successfully implement this list. Lead the CBS Managers in developing the kaizen roadmaps and deploying annual CBS/ OpEx programs that will fully support the business strategies and winning business models and which will be successful in meeting those key breakthrough challenges. As directed by the S VP Operations , focus on resolving critical business issues by identifying and developing teams and action plans and by motivating, training, and empowering a ssociates to continuously improve and grow the business . Drive the application of the Crane Business System throughout the A&E s ites by actively leading, facilitating and participating in kaizen events to achieve strategic business targets . Minimum of 2 per month Foster and continuously advocate a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. KPI’s: Mentor newer CBS managers / analysts and other functional leaders on the use of KPI boards; Identify gaps and mentor others to apply problem solving methodology to identify RCCA Any other task assigned by supervisor or management Minimum Qualifications: Experience : 7+ years in a direct operations role with demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement tools through the business with multiple locations Knowledge : Understanding of fundamental change management concepts and ability to lead and support groups through change Skills/Abilities : Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills in a matrix environment; Strong team formation and leadership skills; Excellent oral and written communication skills, to include presentation skills and facilitation of groups toward deliverables; Advanced knowledge in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project Management Tools; Ability to link customer needs and business processes; Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional project teams toward process improvement as measured by business impact Education/Certification : Bachelor’s degree in relevant field Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.
