Job Title: Crew Planner
Reports To: Manager of Crew Scheduling
Location: MIA Headquarters
OBJECTIVE
Global Crossing Airlines seeks an experienced Crew Planner to proactively plan and optimize crew coverage while maintaining full regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will manage the 48-hour and beyond crew outlook, anticipate staffing requirements, position crewmembers to bases as needed, and coordinate proactively with Crew Scheduling and other operational departments to support efficient and reliable flight operations.
This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment and is committed to proactive aviation crew planning, operational coordination, and effective crew utilization.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Manage and maintain a 48-hour and beyond crew outlook, identifying anticipated staffing requirements, coverage gaps, open assignments, and potential operational constraints.
Proactively position crewmembers to appropriate bases as needed based on projected operational requirements, upcoming schedules, crew availability, qualifications, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor future crew coverage and identify potential shortages or excess staffing early enough to allow for proactive adjustments.
Coordinate crew positioning and repositioning plans with Crew Scheduling, OCC, Crew Travel, and other applicable departments to ensure crews are available where needed.
Review upcoming flight schedules and crew assignments to identify opportunities to optimize crew utilization and minimize last-minute operational disruptions.
Anticipate future crew legality, qualification, training, and availability issues that could impact coverage within the 48-hour-plus planning window.
Develop proactive contingency plans for known staffing constraints, including anticipated sick leave, training events, time-off, positioning requirements, and other planned or foreseeable absences.
Communicate projected staffing concerns and recommended positioning actions to Crew Scheduling management and other operational stakeholders.
Maintain an accurate forward-looking crew plan that provides Crew Scheduling with a clear picture of expected crew availability and coverage needs beyond the immediate operational period.
Minimum Requirements And Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in scheduling, operations, logistics, dispatch, or another time-critical coordination role; aviation experience a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and ability to learn crew scheduling platforms such as RAIDO or equivalent software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey schedule information clearly to crew, supervisors, and stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions under time pressure.
- Availability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays in support of 24/7 operations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required airport security clearances and successfully pass all background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in aviation , logistics, or a related field.
- Prior experience in airline operations, crew scheduling, dispatch, or aviation support roles.
- Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 117 and Part 121 flight and duty time regulations.
- Experience with Navblue scheduling systems.

- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective in high-pressure or rapidly changing situations.
- Proficient across Microsoft Office Suite and adaptable to new scheduling technologies.
- Self-motivated, quick learner who can work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Work Schedule
- Position requires availability for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support continuous 24/7 operations.
- On-site attendance is required in accordance with company policy.
