Frontier’s Transitioning Military A&P Technician Pathway helps eligible military aircraft maintenance technicians move into a civilian career as a Licensed A&P Mechanic.
We’ll help guide you through the FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification process, including FAA Form 8610-2 eligibility, and prepare you to maintain Frontier’s Airbus A320-family fleet in a safety-focused, union maintenance environment.

- Verify FAA Form 8610-2 eligibility with Frontier Recruiting. If you do not have it yet, we’ll help guide you through the process.
- Interview with Frontier Maintenance.
- Complete the Frontier employment process and applicable program documentation.
- Attend a fast-track preparation course at a Frontier-approved location.
- Complete applicable certification and program requirements, then report to your assigned base to begin your career as a Licensed A&P Mechanic.

What You’ll Do
As a Frontier A&P Mechanic, you’ll help keep our Airbus A320-family fleet safe, compliant and ready to fly.
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and aircraft maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations, Frontier procedures and approved maintenance documentation.
- Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and help return aircraft safely to service.
- Follow applicable MEL/CDL/NEF procedures and approved maintenance requirements.
- Complete required logbook entries, work cards and maintenance system documentation accurately.
- Follow strict tool-control and housekeeping standards.
- Operate Ground Support Equipment and airport vehicles when trained, authorized and qualified.
- Support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) assignments and field trips as required by the applicable labor agreement.
What You’ll Need
- Meet applicable FAA A&P requirements, including FAA Form 8610-2 eligibility, and complete the TMTP pathway. An A&P certificate is required for the Licensed A&P Mechanic role.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to obtain required airport and Frontier driving endorsements.
- Ability to obtain taxi and engine run-up qualification within six months of assignment to Line Maintenance, as directed.
- Ability to complete required aircraft differences training, as assigned.
- Two or more years of aircraft maintenance experience on Airbus A320-family aircraft or similar large aircraft, including work such as inspections, engine changes, landing gear, structural repairs, flight-control rigging or component maintenance, or completion of an FAA-accredited A&P mechanic training program.
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds frequently and more than 100 pounds occasionally.
If assigned to Interior Crew: Responsibilities may include removal, repair and installation of seats, galleys, lavatories, panels and flooring. Additional qualifications, including an Airframe rating and/or differences training, may be required based on assignment.
$10,000 pre-employment sign-on bonus
Eligible candidates accepted into the program may receive a
$10,000 pre-employment sign-on bonus, subject to program terms and conditions.
The bonus requires a
three-year commitment. If employment ends before the commitment period is completed, the full bonus amount plus interest will be due.
What To Expect
This is a full-time union aircraft maintenance role. Schedule, shift assignments and many work rules are determined by seniority in accordance with the applicable labor agreement.
The role includes hands-on maintenance in line-maintenance and hangar environments, physical work, strict tool-control requirements, use of maintenance systems and documentation, and AOG travel or field assignments as required.
