In this role, you will contribute to the modification, production, and installation of sheet metal and milled parts for prototypes and sample builds, ensuring high-quality execution in line with aviation standards. You will support the maintenance and testing of aircraft systems, playing a key part in ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out tinsmith and sheet metal modifications on prototypes according to technical drawings and specifications.
Produce sheet metal and milled parts, including forming, cutting, and assembling components for prototype and sample installations.
Perform prototype and sample installations on aircraft structures and systems, ensuring proper fit and function.
Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work on aircraft, focusing on sheet metal and structural components.
Conduct system and certification tests on relevant aircraft structures and assemblies as directed.
Carry out functional tests, identify faults, perform problem analyses, and implement corrective actions.
Independently record reports, working papers, and test documentation in a clear and traceable manner.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and quality staff to ensure work is completed to required standards and timelines.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a sheet metal worker, tinsmith, or similar role within mechanical or aviation environments.
Strong practical skills in sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, forming, and assembly.
Ability to read and work from technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
Experience performing functional tests, fault finding, and corrective work on mechanical or structural systems.
Competence in documenting work performed, including reports and working papers, independently and accurately.
High attention to detail with a focus on quality, safety, and adherence to procedures.
Ability to work efficiently in a temporary assignment, managing tasks with minimal supervision.
Desirable Skills:
Previous experience in aircraft maintenance or aerospace manufacturing.
Familiarity with certification and system testing procedures in regulated environments.
Experience working on prototypes or one-off builds where flexibility and problem-solving are required.
Knowledge of relevant aviation standards and documentation practices.
Basic German and/or English language skills for reading technical documentation and reporting.
Qualifications:
Completed apprenticeship or vocational training as a sheet metal worker, tinsmith, aircraft mechanic, or similar technical trade.
Additional training or certificates in metal fabrication, welding, or aircraft maintenance are an advantage.
Evidence of ongoing technical development or manufacturer-specific training in aviation or mechanical fields is preferred.
