POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Electrical Engineer will support development of electrical designs for new products and existing product upgrades, including requirements, project coordination, testing and realization into a final product.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the cognizant electrical engineer on a product development program.
- Plan, design, analysis, and documentation of a major CCA or multiple complex circuits.
- May be the technical lead on a product design update.
- Adapts existing design technology for new application.
- Test and troubleshoot initial builds of new design circuit cards.
- Documents own designs and owns document release/signoff.
- Reviews design documents of less tenured engineers.
- Significantly contributes to design review preparation.
- Analyze electrical circuits.
- Research electrical devices and apply to new designs
- Research and select circuit components based on performance, cost, and availability
- Evaluate qualification test results and identify design improvements, as needed
- Coordinate, organize, and participate in analysis, design, development, and qualifications as assigned.
- Prepare and present technical information to the leadership team. Act as technical liaison to other functional groups as required.
- Provides technical mentoring to other engineers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of direct experience as an electrical engineer, or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of experience
- Experience with and interest in digital electronics and high-speed communication
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Skill to design high speed electrical circuits, including thermal considerations
- Ability to multi-task across multiple projects
- Skill to create project design documentation
- Ability to interpret industry standards
- Skill to perform initial hardware functional testing
- Ability to use circuit simulation tools to inform a design approach
- Ability to perform PCB analysis in PADS or equivalent
- Ability to present technical presentations to internal and external groups
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team structured environment.
- Some analog design and programming experience preferred
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

Base salary range for this position is $102,687- $144,031 per year.
