Within Thales AMS (Airspace Mobility Solutions), part of the Land and Air Systems (LAS) Global Business Unit, we develop advanced airspace control and security solutions for commercial and defence applications, alongside digital solutions for Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) and Digital Aviation.
As part of our ongoing Project-to-Product transformation, you will contribute to the largest software product development programme within AMS, involving more than 300 engineers worldwide.
Based in Vélizy or Toulouse, you will support the Product Line Manager (PLM) in managing the interface between projects and product development. Your role is to balance product standardisation with customer-specific requirements, while ensuring alignment with the product roadmap and business objectives.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the project–product interface, ensuring alignment between customer requirements, project needs and the product roadmap, including compliance matrices during bid phases and product consistency throughout project execution.
- Monitor product roadmap funding through CFRD/SFRD, ensuring consistency between project contributions, funding requirements and product objectives.
- Consolidate the product programme dashboard, schedules and development plans, covering project interdependencies, shared and specific developments, architecture evolution, milestones, budgets and recurring/non-recurring costs (RC/NRC).
- Challenge engineering cost estimates and support responses to calls for tenders, while managing risks and opportunities across the product programme.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, safety, environmental, legal and regulatory requirements, including intellectual property rights and export control.
- Promote team engagement, effective communication and collaboration across stakeholders with different objectives.
Project execution remains under the responsibility of the Project Managers within the segments.
Your Profile
Do you combine strong leadership with an in-depth understanding of complex software development and its cost drivers?
You have significant technical experience in the development of highly complex software systems and a strong background in hybrid product/project organisations, combining standard product development with customer-specific requirements.
Your experience and expertise include:
- Software development and architecture: a strong understanding of engineering processes and tools for large software solutions, including the impact of architectural choices on development costs.
- Software cost management: the ability to assess and challenge engineering costs and understand their implications for product development.
- Product policy management: proven experience managing a product policy and navigating the challenges of product standardisation and project-specific developments.
- Leadership and stakeholder management: the ability to manage competing priorities, resolve project-related conflicts, negotiate and engage effectively with stakeholders in complex international environments.
You demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills, sound judgement, assertiveness and the ability to make independent decisions when required. Your agility, adaptability and ability to work in a competitive, multitasking environment are key strengths.
You foster continuous improvement, accountability, transparency and curiosity, while supporting teamwork, diversity and inclusion. You are committed to Thales' values, policies and procedures, including health, safety and environmental requirements.
Your English proficiency enables you to communicate effectively in an international environment.
Knowledge of Air Traffic Control solutions, including their capabilities and architecture, and proficiency in French would be additional assets.
