The candidate for this intern position will work closely with an experienced Project Engineer supporting additive manufactured heat exchanger component design and development for advanced future aircraft applications. This position is within the Thermal Management Heat Exchanger Product Line Organization in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. The Heat Exchanger Product Line encompasses all engineering activities associated with the design, development, qualification, and production support of Heat Exchangers. The product line includes materials, design, project and manufacturing teams in Windsor Locks, CT as well as other global locations.
What You Will Do:
- Work within an Integrated Product Development Team (IPDT) of aero-thermal, materials, design, manufacturing, and test engineers to develop additive manufactured heat exchangers
- Creating test plans and supporting structural and performance tests of subscale and full scale heat exchangers
- Assure that key milestones are met and support creation of presentations and documentation
- Creating and maintaining schedules and budgets
- Perform requirements assessments to assure that all customer and internal requirements are satisfied.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Have completed at least 2 years/4 semesters of college coursework by the beginning of internship (Rising Junior/Senior Year)
- Have fundamental understanding of thermodynamics
- Have some experience with additive manufacturing / 3D printing
- Be proficient with MS Office applications; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Be proficient with Matlab

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Must be a commutable distance to Windsor Locks, CT to work an onsite schedule. This position may be eligible for relocation.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
