Role Introduction
Reports to: Head of DGT & IT Strategy & Planning
This is accountable for leading and managing the IT and Digital department strategy and transformation initiatives, in financial, resourcing and internal performance domain.
The Digital and IT Strategy & Planning Manager shall continually assess business needs, financials/ resourcing strategy and technology market to drive a strategy in digital and IT; with the objectives to achieve optimal digital and IT investments for strategic business growth, manage financial and control functions, develop tactical plans to support the rapid evolution of digital business and improve IT internal performance.
This role reports to the Head of DGT & IT Strategy & Planning and is required to work with different Senior IT/Non-IT Management stakeholders across Cathay Pacific.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and managerial duties
- Provide leadership and set direction, mission and vision of the team in alignment with the strategic objectives of the Digital and IT department and the business.
- Foster a culture of success through individual performance targets, with a clear engagement strategy and regular performance reviews.
Digital and IT Strategic Initiatives
- Manage continual transformation agenda and strategic initiatives as required to support IT and digital leadership strategy
- Translate and drive top-level strategies/vision into actionable goals
- Communicate goals and vision to broader Digital & IT audience
Digital and IT Financial and Resourcing Strategy
- Define and drive the Digital and IT Finance strategy to optimise digital and IT investment and manage operational costs.
- Facilitate the effective management of Digital and IT budget and discretionary spend by working with the DGT and IT Heads to establish a reporting framework on digital and IT investment.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to identify opportunities for optimising digital and IT investment.
- Define and drive the digital and IT Resourcing strategy to optimise recruitment processes
Digital and IT Internal Performance
- Work with DGT & IT team heads and senior management to derive annual goals and vision
- Define governance, measurements and track delivery and outcomes of departmental KPIs
- Drive automation for continuous tracking and provide visibility to senior management
- Identify areas of improvements and action plan based on internal performance metrics
General
- Coordinate Dept ABR/ IBR. Measure, analyse and report performance as of the set of established measures. Manage the collection, consolidation, analysis and communication of reporting to Senior management and key stakeholders.Drive process improvement in Financial, Resource, to enhance cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Drive good communication and relationship with Finance, Group Transformation Advisory, APD and People department to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Collaborate with Digital, Solution Centres and Infra & Security teams to look for continuous improvement
- Assist in ad hoc projects related to overall IT & DGT strategy
Requirements
- University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplinesA Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degrees would be advantageous
- 8 - 12 years of digital/ IT experience with at least recent five years in a related position.
- Three years of supervisory experience with demonstrable leadership skills
- Excellent business acumen, with demonstrable competency in business planning and strategy development
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of project delivery
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability with a focus on managing business outcomes through collaboration with multiple internal and external parties
- Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
- Excellent communications abilities and relationship management skills Strong ability to manage, train and motivate staff
