Job Summary: The Production Material Planner (PMP) is responsible for creating work orders and scheduling production of fabricated parts to support the Value Streams. The PMP will also incorporate Engineering Change Orders (ECO) at the appropriate time of change that it will be required. Essential Functions: Review Master Production Schedules and Work Orders and confer with Planners, Supervisors and Engineering to communicate daily priorities for specific customer orders to shop floor. Review Kanban and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) requirements daily to release jobs to production through the creation of Work Orders in the Oracle ERP System; Change or split open Work Orders as required. Review overdue materials for impact to schedule, notify Value Stream Manager/Supervisor and or buyer of past due materials and acquire a recovery date and plan. Incorporate Engineering Change Orders (ECO) at the appropriate time of change that it will be required. Work with the Value Stream and Finance team to understand cause of aged Work Orders and assist with appropriate plan to drive down the number of aged Work Orders in process “WIP”. Prepare reports summarizing production-related information such as material shortages, downtime of work and equipment. Minimum Qualifications: Experience: 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with inventory responsibilities. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process used in the operating unit of assignment. Working knowledge of production planning, material requirements planning and Kanban systems. Working knowledge of computer systems that support production, e.g., inventory control, purchasing, production scheduling and MRP. Skills/Abilities: Well-developed skill in communicating with others. Proficiency in Excel and Word and ability to work with Access databases. Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules with multiple teams, solve urgent problems associated with manufacture of products and document and communicate production outcomes and trends. Ability to perform math and logic computations requiring sequencing of times, critical incidents, and numeric information. Ability to learn the techniques associated with Kanban systems. Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.
