Role Introduction
Reports to: Global Business Development Manager
The Assistant Manager, Global Sales Insight is a key member in the Global Business Development team, responsible for supporting all analytical needs for Global Sales Team. He/she will lead two Global Sales Insight Executive and provides guidance/direction on performance analysis, commercial studies, reporting and campaigns/initiatives tracking.
In this role, he/she should have strong understanding of internal data structure, highly proficient or expert user of business intelligence tool (DDS), data query program (Alteryx or SQL) and data visualization tool (QlikSense, Tableau), and be able to design user-friendly yet professional visualizations/dashboards for Global Sales team members. He/she, together with his/her team member are also responsible for driving data adoption initiatives among Global Sales team members.
As an integral member of the team, he/she will also support various digital transformational projects to strengthen the analytical capabilities of Customer Travel team.
Key Responsibilities
Insights & Analytics
- Develop integrated business intelligence (BI) solutions, including but not limited to reporting suites, dashboards, scorecards to support regular business performance management activities; to identify key trends, actionable insights and opportunities in terms of Origin/Destinations (ODs), targeted customer segments, sales channels and agency segments
- Collaborate with Global Sales team members to collect analytical requirements and formulate dashboard development plans to support their operations and analytical needs
- Drive adoption of all analytical tools and cultivate data-driven culture within Global Sales team members
- Conduct ad-hoc commercial studies and campaigns/initiatives tracking
People Management
- Lead, support and encourage own team to achieve success
- Build a strong and motivated team, ensuring the right organizational structure and the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork
- Supervise and mentor direct report(s), encouraging effective collaboration
- Demonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathay’s core values
- Develop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development
- Actively engage with employees to enhance communication and their understanding of department goals, as well as driving individual performance
Others
- Participate in HQ analytics-related projects (if any) from project initiation/design, requirements collection, data validation and user acceptance testing (UAT) to dashboards development and enhancements
- Act as the key liaison person of Global agency data and data visualization tool; coordinate/conduct end user trainings/workshops (if required)
Requirements
- University degree (preferably in related disciplines) with minimum 5 years' of relevant working experience
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g. QlikView, QlikSense, PowerBI, Tableau), data query program (e.g. Alteryx), and scripting languages (e.g. SQL)
- Knowledge of third-party market business intelligence tools including DDS, PRISM
- Working experience in commercial aviation and/or revenue management is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills and be able to present insights to different audiences
- Results driven with proven ability to influence internal/external stakeholders
- People management experience is an advantage
- Willingness to travel
