What you can expect from this position:
Under general direction of the Associate Director, Aviation Regulatory Programs, The Manager, Aviation Regulatory Operations plays a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient aviation operations at Toronto Pearson Airport. Reporting to the Associate Director, Aviation Regulatory Programs, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining regulatory programs, overseeing the Wildlife Management Contractor, and ensuring compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
As Manager, Aviation Regulatory Operations, you will:
- Develop and maintain regulatory programs, such as the Reduced and Low Visibility Operations Plan and Runway Incursion Prevention Plan
- Oversee the Wildlife Management Contractor and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Interpret and apply Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and associated standards
- Maintain the Airport Wildlife Management Plan (AWMP) in accordance with CARs and standards
- Manage key operational plans, including the Reduced and Low Visibility Plan, Runway Incursion Prevention Plan, Ground Operations Manual, and Apron and Maintenance Run Procedures
- Collaborate with NAV CANADA on matters related to Land Use, Instrument Approach Procedures, and ICAO Type A charts
- Support GTAA Land Use on matters related to Instrument Approach Procedures, ICAO Type A Charts, and Airport Zoning Regulations
- Conduct safety management system (SMS) assessments and participate in audits
- Establish and maintain a Regulatory Library Program to facilitate access to historical and current information
- Develop and maintain procedures for operating and improving the regulatory library program
- Assist other departments in defining procedures for key interdepartmental processes, such as change management and airside work management
- Lead and develop a diverse and multi-skilled team, fostering a positive and supportive work environment
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards by staying updated on changes to Canadian Aviation Regulations and industry best practices, conducting regular reviews and audits to identify and address compliance gaps and developing and implement corrective actions as needed
- Find opportunities to improve regulatory processes and procedure and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness

The salary for this management non-unionized position is competitive based on the successful candidate’s qualifications.
This is the role for you, if you have:
- Aviation Diploma or equivalent experience and post-secondary education
- 2-3 years of aviation experience working at an airport, civil aviation authority or Air Traffic Service provider
- 5 years of experience working the Canadian Aviation Regulations and operational manuals
- 2 years of leadership with people management experience preferable in a matrix organization and multiple operations experience
- Valid G Ontario Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position
