In a nutshell
As Senior Manager – Aircraft Programmes and Asset Management, you will be accountable for effective aircraft entry into service, mid-term management and end of lease returns/disposals.
Your role will be accountable for effective programme planning, OEM and supplier management, associated costs, Fleet Planning technical liaison, airframe warranty management and technical records compliance.
You will act as point of contact for senior management, employees and other associated stakeholders.
Day to day
The role is extremely varied, but on a day to day basis you will be expected to:
- Leads Team to deliver against targets, managing aircraft asset management teams, developing and managing strategic initiatives
- Lead the day to day running of the aircraft asset management engagement and communications, regularly checking that initiatives and objectives are on track
- Financial Management, working with the Fleet team and Finance department, developing business cases for acquisition or return of aircraft
- Build and maintain MRO, OEM and Part M regulatory relationships, acting as a point of escalation when required

- Knowledge of CAA, EASA & other National Airworthiness Authority regulations
- Must be thorough, detailed and analytical in their work with enthusiasm to develop a professional team culture
- Possess excellent written and oral communication/influencing skills at all levels both internally and externally to VAA
- The ability to compile and deliver presentations and reports to Senior Management
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to operate at a senior level, and effective peer to peer relationships
- You must have strong leadership qualities and be able to demonstrate a track record of managing performance, delivering feedback and managing all aspects of People related issues
- Financial and commercial awareness in relation to decisions within the function
- Demonstrable change management and project management skills
- Has demonstrated the management of business-critical planning activities
- A history of developing and adopting new and existing procedures
- Management of teams to achieve immediate business needs and deliver long term projects
- Have proven ability to analyse and interpret data from a wide variety of sources and make sound technical judgements and recommendations
- Experience of working with senior leadership both internally and with external stakeholders such as leasing company representatives
- Promoted and implemented change using proven change management techniques as appropriate
- Knowledge of current regulatory/legislative requirements in respect of Airworthiness data storage, tracking and reporting
- Knowledge of regulatory/legislative requirements in respect of the Terms of Approval of the Virgin Atlantic Design Organisation.
