The Commercial Transformation Governance Consultant invests in the future of Southwest’s People by supporting the efforts of launching projects that will change how Southwest operates such as Assigned and Premium Seating, Airline Partnerships, and Southwest Vacations.This role interacts with groups across the entire organization – Commercial, Operations, Technology, etc. - to ensure the successful planning and delivery of projects and presentations. The Commercial Transformation Governance Consultant has strong interpersonal and project management skills that will help drive the future of Technology at Southwest.

Job Summary
- Support for Executive sponsor of Commercial Transformation and associated projects (e.g. assigned & extra legroom seating), including the management of the Executive Commercial Transformation governance forum, creation of top-level presentations on Commercial Transformation strategy and execution for delivery to the highest internal and external audiences, and formation of Executive-level project reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support the management of the Executive Commercial Transformation governance forum, including the maintenance of current topics to be reviewed, associated calendars, and the pipeline of future topics
- Collect and distribute supporting materials for governance forum (e.g. presentations and meeting minutes) and engage in weekly coordination across multiple levels of Leadership (Executive, Director, Manager, etc.) across Commercial, Operations, and Technology
- Support the management and execution of EVP Commercial Transformation staff meetings, including the creation of agendas and supporting materials to be reviewed in coordination with project Leaders and working Teams
- Engage in planning and coordination activities with other Company or cross-enterprise forums (e.g. Tuesday Governance, RDO, etc.) where Commercial Transformation engagement is needed
- Creation of high-quality presentations on Commercial Transformation strategy and execution, to be delivered by the EVP Commercial Transformation and other Commercial Transformation Leaders to the highest level internal (Board of Directors, Senior Executives) and external (Investor Day events, Earnings, Industry conferences) audiences
- Coordinate and produce Executive-level reporting for Commercial Transformation highlighting key information associated with projects and workstreams including decisions made, accomplishments, upcoming deliverables and tasks, and support needed
- Drive internal alignment amongst stakeholder groups across the Company to achieve Commercial Transformation deliverables and strategic goals
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of commercial aviation industry, including the industry competitive landscape in the United States
- Skilled in Microsoft Office products, including creation of expert level presentations using PowerPoint for Executive-level audiences and management of shared calendars for forum governance using Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with all levels of Employees up to and including Executive levels
- Ability to identify, synthesize, and communicate key project-related performance metrics and drivers
- Ability to identify and create the important Commercial Transformation message or story on strategy, plans, execution, and competitive dynamics with guidance from Leaders
- Ability to digest significant amounts of information and detailed data and summarize relevant information for an Executive-level audience
- Ability to accomplish a high volume of deliverables with high quality in short periods of time
- Skilled in building and maintaining relationships and a high-level of confidence and trust from Senior and Executive Leadership
- Knowledge of project management, strategic planning and portfolio management principles
- Ability to connect how projects and programs integrate with company objectives
- Ability to drive cross-functional alignment amongst all Leadership levels (Executive, Director, Manager) and Individual contributor levels
- Ability to manage a high volume of fast-paced and quickly-changing details and requests from dozens of Leaders regarding Commercial Transformation and cross-enterprise governance
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Intermediate level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Corporate governance
- Corporate planning
- Cross-functional coordination
- Executive-level storytelling
- Commercial aviation industry
- Fully-functioning, broad knowledge in:
- Contributing to cross-departmental, high visibility Projects and Programs
- Building trust and relationships with all levels of Employees & Leadership
Licensing/Certification
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay and Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $102,500.00 per year to $113,900.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
