Job Summary: The Field Services Engineer I works under immediate supervision and uses established procedures to maximize product performance by supporting and resolving product issues quickly, efficiently and to customer satisfaction. The Field Services Engineer I also participates in engineering design review and testing of products, provides technical support and training for the end user at customer sites and ensures customer satisfaction. Essential Functions: Respond to and troubleshoot Airline and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customer technical inquiries Develop training materials for end user customer and provide onsite and off-site training for customers Perform detailed failure analysis and write reports Support new product Entry into Service (EIS) programs Support in-service evaluations, aircraft certification and integration testing; Participate in various on-wing tests, monitor and resolve complex technical in-service issues, and provide design engineers with product feedback Write reports and manage inter-company communications Maintain knowledge of CFR, FAR, SFAR’s (Federal Aviation Regulations) Maintain knowledge of outside agencies such as FAA, NTSB, ICAO, JAA, EASA, and their services Support Product Development Phase (PDP) Process Participate in Program Design Review (PDRs) and on-going status reviews Any other task assigned by supervisor or management Non-Essential Functions: Participate in various industry symposiums, conferences and meetings Build and maintain various Product Support databases Minimum Qualifications: Experience: 0-2 years relevant work experience Knowledge : Working knowledge of the airline industry, airline products, airline support requirements, and regulatory requirements; Working knowledge of aircraft and shop level maintenance; Working knowledge of MS Projects; Working knowledge of Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS); Understands fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program; Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Skills/Abilities : Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Education/Certification : BA or BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical discipline; OR Associate's Degree from a two-year college & 4+ years of relevant work experience. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
