European press officer – Netherlands & Germany

The Job
As a vital member of easyJet’s international communications team, the European Press Officer will play a pivotal role in delivering the airline's corporate communications strategy in the Netherlands and Germany.
Working closely with senior leadership and local teams, you will protect and enhance easyJet’s reputation by communicating key themes to our customers, media, and stakeholders. Through your efforts, you will help drive the company’s leadership in sustainability and corporate responsibility while supporting consumer and brand PR efforts across these markets.
What You Will Be Doing
- You will manage easyJet’s external corporate communications in the Netherlands (80%) and Germany (20%).
- Serving as a strategic advisor for easyJet in the market, you will identify key opportunities and challenges, propose and implement PR/PA plans that protect the brand’s reputation and drive key messages forward.
- Ensure a highly effective press office function in the Netherlands, handling reactive media inquiries whilst proactively shaping company messaging and crafting impactful communications materials.
- Manage sustainability communications and advocacy efforts for the airline in country, helping to deliver on easyJet’s commitment to reaching net zero by 2050 through a mix of fleet renewal, operational efficiency, airspace modernisation, and the introduction of zero-emissions aircraft technology, in particular hydrogen-powered aircraft.
- Oversee local corporate communications, facilitating high-level engagement between senior management (C-level) and media. Lead the dissemination of financial communications, ensuring clarity and consistency around easyJet’s strategy as a FTSE100-listed business.
- Develop consumer communication campaigns to improve brand positioning, working closely with the marketing and trading teams on initiatives such as press trips or brand activations.
- Manage crisis communications and issue management in markets as well as forming part of the company-wide on-call rota for out of office media enquiries across the UK and Europe (approximately once every 7-8 weeks).
- Effectively guide the Dutch PR and PA agency, and work closely with the Senior PR & PA Manager Germany to manage agency support in Germany, ensuring we work together as one team.
What You Will Need To Do This Role
You will have at least 3-5 years’ experience in PR, public affairs, media relations or external communications (experience in-agency or working with a high-profile consumer brand preferred).
As a collaborative team player you are capable of working independently and proactively, while taking full ownership of your responsibilities.
You’re a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where adaptability is key, and you excel at prioritizing and managing time effectively.
You have the ability to respond to challenging PR situations with grace and ease.
You’re diplomatic, possess an excellent sense of judgment, and take an active interest in politics and current affairs.
You’re a
native Dutch speaker with
exceptional English proficiency. Fluency in German is an advantage.

Location & Hours of Work
This full-time role will be based in Amsterdam and you can work from Schiphol Airport or remotely and will also be required to visit our HQ at London/Luton Airport around once a month.
