The Sr. Commercial Strategy Lead is responsible for creating a commercial strategy to introduce our next generation retail platform portfolio to the market. They are accountable for creating commercial models to deliver our retail platform incrementally into the market β from launch to maturity of the portfolio offerings. This role is transversal and will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Corporate Finance, Security, Legal, Delivery, Fin/Ops, etc. A successful person in this role will validate commercial strategy, support innovative portfolios and offerings to meet revenue targets maximizing the return on the portfolio. They will use their strong collaboration and communication skills to refine an iterative approach working across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Create market-facing commercial messaging, consistent with value prop and go-to-market strategy in collaboration with product managers, value stream managers, and commercial account teams
- Assess and recommend strategic pricing of offerings in collaborations with Product Managers (including ad-hoc pricing requests), Product Marketing Manager, Corporate Finance, and the Commercial Account Teams
- Work with account teams to evangelize the commercial strategy, and pricing models
- Design commercial governance to define policies, methodology and tools
- Ensure commercial strategy is aligned with billing capabilities
- Work with Corporate Finance for pricing approvals and Rev/Ops for Commercial Policies
- Work with Delivery Team to provide feedback on implementation timelines, and their impact on commercial strategy
- Drive communications and commercial upskilling programs to support sales process and organization
- Ensure commercial Go-To-Market readiness ( preparation to Pricing Committee, approval from Corporate Finance, etc.), providing inputs to various groups such as:
- Sales, so that Sales can develop action plans for the products/features to be released
- Marketing, so that Marketing can create relevant campaigns, collateral and sales enablement
- Professional Services, Customer Success and Customer Support, to ensure they are informed and ready for new launches, features
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in commercial strategy, business development, or consulting in the life sciences industry.
- Proven track record of leading and executing complex and high-impact commercial projects, such as product launches, market assessments, pricing and contracting, and portfolio optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources and generate insights and recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across functions and geographies.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach and mentor a team of commercial strategy managers and analysts.
- Advanced degree in business, economics, life sciences, or related fields.
