Role Summary
The AOG Response Specialist III is a subject matter expert in sourcing, procurement and logistics of aircraft materials at Alaska (AS). As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in collaboration with Engineering stakeholders to create strategy to reduce AOG event(s), provide recommendations to address logistical process improvements and mentors team members.
Key Duties
Orchestrate system-wide material support for Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG), deferred maintenance, and heavy maintenance requirements.
Applies deep knowledge in AOG material requirements to make recommendations to reduce future AOG event(s)
Develop and implement process, procedures and best practices to improve material requirement support.
Assist leadership in training the AOG Response Specialist II as necessary.
Analyze material shortages and manages replenishment activities with Material and Repairs Control to support sourcing and delivering quality materials that best support the operational schedule, with each decision considering location, availability, cost, and speed of execution with overall financial performance as a factor.
With minimal direction from leadership, exercise considerable judgement to make decisions in non-stock materials required for deferred maintenance.
Guide AOG Response Specialists II with sourcing, procurement and logistics when necessary.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by complying with Safety Management System (SMS) and Company policies and procedures as well as Federal Regulations.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
4 years of experience in material support department (e.g., stores, repairs, purchasing, material control, or maintenance), preferably in an airline or third-party maintenance vendor operation.
Bachelor’s degree or an additional 2 years of relevant training/experience in material support in lieu of this degree.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, in the execution of all areas of responsibility.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to prioritize and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).
Comfortable interfacing with all levels within the Maintenance & Engineering organization.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S
Preferred
Experience in procurement and logistics.
Leadership or supervisory experience.
Knowledge relating to the transportation of aircraft materials.
Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) proficiency and other related aircraft manuals.
Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
Important notification for employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge. Review theSIDA Badge Requirementsdocument for a comprehensive overview. If an employee does not qualify for a SIDA badge or has their SIDA badge pulled from them, the employee will be terminated.

Salary Range
$82,950 -- $124,450 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
