Manufacturing Manager

Position Summary
Thales is looking for a Manufacturing Manager to oversee all daily manufacturing activities within the plant ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves managing staff, optimizing production workflows, maintaining quality standards, commitment with shipment schedule and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Oversee all direct manufacturing activities: Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.
Production Management: Ensure compliance to customer delivery commitments, increase production through production measurement and actions, assesses capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining and improving quality standards.
Staff Management:
Recruit, train, and manage manufacturing staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment enforcing human resource policies and procedures.
Organize and plan and delegate assignment to all dedicated personnel defining proper roster allocation based in the monthly demand commitments provided by production planning.
Administer annual performance review and participate in the salary adjustment process.
Budget Management: Create and manage headcount planning as keeping the productivity targets per product line and cost of unit in budget.
Maintenance – Oversee the maintenance team responsible for manufacturing equipment and environment upkeep. This includes preventative maintenance plans, decision making, technical support, root cause analysis and corrective action, spares parts inventory controls, and department KPI’s.
Reporting: Prepare and present reports on production performance, efficiency, and other key metrics to senior management.
Lean/5S: Promote, support, and sustain the 5S/Lean Manufacturing initiatives as concepts to drive cost reduction, machine performance improvements, shop floor organization and scrap reduction.
Continue Improvement: Improves productivity by identifying process improvement opportunities, implementing changes.
Safety and Compliance: Ensures that health and safety, security and process regulations are followed and ensure that all processes are ISO compliant and in control to ensure customer expectations are achieved.
Communication: Coordinate with other departments such as HSE, quality, engineering, sales, logistics and procurement to ensure smooth operations and timely communication to management staff, direct staff and shop floor employees of critical issues including capacity planning, timely delivery of products, customer relations, material availability, quality, employee relations and safety.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field a plus.
Proven experience in a Manufacturing environment with Prior experience as a Lead or Supervisor in a manufacturing.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and presentation skills.
People skills: Ability to deal with staff conflicts.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies.
Preferred Skills
Ability to communicate effectively to convey instructions, directives, ideas, and goals to a diverse group of personalities. And lead meetings.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Must demonstrate leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and observation ability.
Ability to react calmly and quickly in crisis situations.

Special Position Requirements
Physical Environment: Frequent trips to the manufacturing floor to trouble shoot software bugs on live equipment to validate product, process and quality. It is a active manufacturing environment which requires headsets and protective equipment (safety goggles, steel toed shoes etc.)
