Job Summary

The Senior Interline Pricing Consultant is part of the Revenue Management Department and will support the implementation and execution of our Airline Partnership pricing strategy ensuring that Southwest is implementing and executing an approach that enhances Southwest revenue position. This role will provide recommendations and solutions for Southwest Airlines entry into a partnership agreement with another carrier and the ongoing execution of those agreements. The Senior Interline Pricing Consultant is a self-starter who is proactive, detail-oriented, and excited to drive the future of Southwest.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. Responsibilities
- Implement and execute Southwest Airlines interline pricing strategy
- Negotiate Special Prorate Agreements with other airlines that align to Southwest’s Commercial goals
- Build relationships across Southwest’s Commercial, Operations and Technology Teams to ensure ease of execution of agreements and manage ongoing agreements
- Assist in setting and aligning Southwest’s direction and goals with partner carriers and provides internal guidance and input to achieve successful contract negotiations
- Drive and influence business decisions through a comprehensive understanding of operational, financial, environmental, and/or industry drivers and variables
- Analyze the revenue performance of airline partnership agreements and communicate business performance to Revenue Management and Pricing leaders and team, acting as the point person for executive updates, requests for information, questions, or special projects by performing deep-dive analytics
- Work effectively across teams, listen well, consider diverse opinions, contribute fully to team’s success, drive consensus, and keep Commercials partners informed of developments on initiatives
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Airline Partnerships, Alliances and the ever-changing competitive dynamic of the airline industry with a particular focus on alliances and partnership structures
- Expert knowledge of pricing and revenue management principles
- Skilled in influencing and negotiations
- Knowledge of implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data by turning raw data into meaningful information
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people by air and alternatives, including the relative costs and benefits
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels in the organization
- Ability to communicate actions and plans to peers and leaders with supporting reasoning
- Ability to adjust plans based on changing business trends, changing capabilities or changing priorities
- Skilled in Microsoft Office including Excel/spreadsheets
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Expert level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
- Interline and Codeshare Pricing including Special Prorate Agreement negotiations
- Revenue Management and Pricing principles and practices
- Leading complex cross-functional initiatives and aligning stakeholders at all levels
- Presenting to Senior Executives
- High level analytical problem solving
- Licensing/Certification
- Preferred: Experience with designing, negotiating and monitoring SPAs.
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits:
- Competitive market salary from $124,550 per year to $138,400 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
