Engineering Licence Manager

What the role has to offer:
- This is a key role, the roles positioned within the UK Engineering Services Team, a corporate central Engineering function at Thales UK. This team’s primary objectives are to deliver & ensure the availability, effectiveness and supportability of the shared Engineering Environment, together we aim to increase the efficiency of engineers across the UK
- You will be working within a highly collaborative and multi-disciplined team
- The tools & applications are used by over 3000 UK Engineers, you will contribute to continuous improvement and evolution of the Engineering environment
Key tasks/Responsibilities:
- Improving the maturity of the Software Asset Management (SAM) processes, methods and working practices for Thales UK with focus on standards such ISO 19770 and ITIL v3 methods
- Day-to-day management and optimisation of Engineering Licences. Monitoring Licence server’s availability, on time delivery of licence keys for the UK businesses
- Preparing/Co-ordination of Engineering licence Multi Year Budget and reporting against forecasts.
- Co-ordination of all Engineering licence Maintenance renewals, new purchases and Overseeing Engineering licence user’s access management.
- The role will need to build and maintain strong relationships with the UK Finance, Procurement, IS/IT, Engineering functions and Thales Global Services in France
About you:
- Strong experience in Software Asset Management, Software finance management, and software audit knowledge For SaaS and internal on premise environments.
- Highly organised exceptional attention to detail, you will have an excellent understanding of software licensing, terms and conditions including how to interpret End User License Agreements to ensure that Thales remains compliant.
- Ability to build relationships and engage with key stakeholders with strong communication and presentation skills, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. As well as Experience in liaising with external suppliers.
- Strong understanding of Software Asset Management technology and tools, including Active Directory, software distribution such as SCCM, asset inventory management tools. Knowledge of Service NOW would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical problem solving, process management, document management and control skills.
