Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Stores and Inventory Control, the Tooling Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all aircraft tooling at each base is tracked, controlled and compliant with regulations. This role requires attention to detail, forward thinking and a general knowledge of aircraft tooling.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate all tooling repairs, calibrations and inspections for all bases by being the main POC.
- Reviewing, updating and creating all processes & procedures related to tooling.
- Continually audit our inventory tracking systems (AMOS/RAAS) to ensure receivings, requirements and material classifications are all entered accurately.
- Through the use of Tool Registration, perform a daily log of all tools assigned to the maintenance team and action any discrepancies or un-returned tools.
- Run tool usage reports, identify areas of concern and implement strategies to improve overall efficiency.
- Coordinating tooling movement with the AOG/Purchasing team, Line Maintenance and the Planning/Production team to ensure the right tools required for workpacks are in position at the correct base.
- Analyze and validate all requests for new tools, as required
- Review and action any loan or borrow requests from other airlines/MROs.
- Assist with building/creating in-house tooling in AMOS.
- Conduct tooling inventory counts and maintain Shelf Expiry Reports across all bases.
- Actively participating in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Possess a high school diploma; post-secondary diploma/degree an asset;
- Minimum three (3) years of previous experience;
- Experienced Aviation/Aerospace Stores person OR Technical Aviation background - Aircraft Technician, AME or ACA;
- Must be able to effectively plan and manage resources
- Ability to communicate and correspond clearly and precisely in English
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Must have a valid Class G2 or G driver's license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada Airport Restricted Area Pass and DA AVOP
- Dependability (must have a clear attendance record and reliable on-time reporting)
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 70lbs
- General knowledge of aviation tooling a strong asset
- Knowledge of inventory tracking or aircraft maintenance software a strong asset (preferably AMOS/RAAS)
