Job Summary: The Senior Research Technician will be responsible for manufacture and checkout of electronics test equipment including performing electronics assembly to drawings, wiring and soldering to wire lists and schematics, checkout, integration and troubleshooting of custom Acceptance Test Equipment used for Engineering Development and Production product acceptance test. The overall objective is to ensure customer satisfaction. Essential Functions: Work independently and in a team environment supporting all engineering disciplines through product development. Contribute to Peer Reviews in checking assembly drawings, fabrication drawings and schematic. Adhere to formal processes and standards. Contribute to dry run test procedure related to ATE. Fabricate and maintain Cable, Harness, PCB, ATE per drawing or sketch. Redline and update drawings with discrepancy found during fabrication. Support Brake Control Unit (BCU) Production and Repair and Overhaul. Minimum Qualifications: Experience: Experience in the manufacture of Test Systems (electrical and mechanical electronics packaging). Experience in electronics assembly, wiring, soldering and electronics test. Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of best practices for Aerospace Quality Electronics Assembly, Wiring and Soldering. Knowledge of basic electronics theory and math. Familiarity of equipment utilized in support of testing similar/related Electronic, Aerospace and/or Defense products. Skills: Ability to assemble electronics equipment to assembly and manufacturing drawings. Ability to wire and solder harnesses and cables to drawings, schematics, and wire lists. Ability to perform electronics equipment tests per formal procedures. Familiarity with general test equipment including multi-meters and oscilloscopes. Good technical writing and verbal communication skills with proficient computer skills in common office software programs. Demonstration of a very cooperative, helpful attitude. Team members in all areas of the facility will be required to aid in developing a positive relationship between Test Engineering, other Engineering Disciplines and all company support teams. Occasional travel to customer and supplier facilities for technical support. Education: Two-year degree in Electronics or 5 years equivalent experience in Test Electronics assembly, wiring and soldering. Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications : Experience in troubleshooting LRUs down to the component level. Knowledge and experience of best practices for Aerospace Quality Electronics Assembly, Wiring and Soldering. Ability to read and work to assembly drawings, schematics, and wire lists. Familiarity with Military and Aerospace Standards for assembly, wiring, soldering and workmanship. Interest and/or experience in developing Test Systems for electronics product acceptance testing. Familiar with industrial standard for cable and harness fabrication. (ex. IPC/WHMA-A-620) Work Environment: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, heal straps, and shop coats. Top Benefits: Pay range: $35.11 to $43.14.
