Job Title: Librarian
Location: Warton – On-site
Salary: £41,361 – £45,576 depending on skills and experience
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out customer service transactions: such as enquiries, issue, renewal, reservation discharge of stock
- Catalogue new material in the Library Management System (Softlink Liberty) maintain and update the catalogue as required to improve the user experience
- Edit and update the Library SharePoint sites as required
- Support data collation, analytics and reporting
- Ensuring the library space is run efficiently and effectively shelving and movement of stock as appropriate, including administrative tasks as required.
- To be flexible in responding to changing priorities, unexpected circumstances, and differing situations
- Support high quality service delivery within agreed service deadlines
Essentials
- Experience working in the Library & Information Services sector
- Demonstrable ability and interest in delivery of Library & Information Services
- Experience of working in a front-line customer service role
- Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Organised and methodical approach to work with good attention to detail
Desirable
- Use of Liberty, or similar Library Management System
- Accredited degree in Library & Information Science / Librarianship
- Experience of cataloguing and classification
- Experience of preparing and delivering training /user education

The BAE Systems Air Library And Information Services Team
Our team serves as a dedicated technical Library & Information Service catering to the needs of our Air Sector personnel. Our role involves overseeing and enabling access to a diverse range of information resources via both internal and external repositories and research tools. Additionally, we serve as the primary point of contact for all requests related to books, journals, reports, corporate subscriptions, and research inquiries.
Our team is dynamic, engaged in a variety of tasks that support the entire BAE Systems Air function. As a part of the team, you will have the opportunity to interact with different Lines of Business (LoBs), fostering cross-functional collaboration and exposure to various aspects of our organization.
