The North Berwick Engineering Center (NBEC) organization is responsible for engineering activities for hardware throughout the gas turbine including the Fan/Low Pressure Compressor, High Pressure Compressor, Combustor, Low Pressure Turbine, High Pressure Turbine and Mechanical System modules across all of Pratt & Whitney's military and commercial products. NBEC is co-located with Pratt & Whitney’s largest manufacturing facility where there is hands-on collaboration between manufacturing, assembly and engineering groups. This specific opportunity is to join our team of turbine component designers.
What You Will Do
- Design components and assemblies to support new engine programs and improve current products.
- Execute engineering calculations throughout concept, preliminary, and final design phases.
- Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings to ensure success of product designs and engineering changes.
- Work closely with: Internal and vendor manufacturing operations to ensure producible part designs; Internal and vendor manufacturing operations to disposition non-conforming material; Internal and customer engine overhaul facilities to support continued operation of engines in service.
- Ensure compliance to Pratt and Whitney's engineering process called Engineering Standard Work.
- This position will be onsite in our North Berwick, Maine facility. Occasional travel 10% may be required.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
Qualifications We Prefer
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
- Experience crafting clear technical communication (verbal, images, and written).
- Experience with manufacturing processes / materials such as milling, turning, welding, coatings, and investment casting.
- Experience in successful execution of engineering tasks to meet technical, schedule and budget requirements.
- Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
