Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer with a track record of implementing current technology into power supply and/or power conversion products.

Job Summary:
This role involves leading the engineering development and providing technical support for contracted programs, bids, proposals, and internal research and development initiatives. The engineer will collaborate with marketing to define new product concepts and strategies. This position requires leadership capabilities, extensive technical expertise, mentoring aptitude, and strong presentation skills. With a broad range of experience, the engineer will utilize professional principles and company goals to address and resolve complex challenges. The role demands a high level of creativity, engineering acumen, and sound judgment in the application of engineering principles, all while working independently and driving innovation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Propose and perform R&D and drive power supply and power conversion technology innovation into New Product Development.
- Responsible for the technical aspects of design and development of in-seat power supplies and USB OUs for commercial aircraft.
- Stay abreast of power conversion industry and technology trends and adapt this knowledge to relevant innovation.
- Conduct trade studies to determine optimum approach; Develop new and improve existing technologies; Recommend standard topologies for specific applications.
- Resolve technical problems with a high degree of analytical expertise and originality and drive problems to resolution.
- Prepare and present analyses and technical rationales for your designs at internal and external reviews.
- Meet DO-160, Boeing, and Airbus requirements and develop and support test procedures and reports.
- Provide Electrical Engineering Team leadership on a product development or research project.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Demonstrated proficiency in the duties & responsibilities of the role / direct experience with design of power supply products; Typically obtained with eight (8) or more years of direct experience in power supply design product similar to those at Astronics AES.
- Broad experience with advanced simulation tools: OrCAD, SPICE, and SABER
- Experience designing to DO-160 and other applicable standards
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

Base salary range is $122,003 - $183,004 per year. Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
