Role Summary
The Director of Supply Ops sets the long-term strategy and oversees the performance of the Supply Operations department for Alaska Airlines (AS). As a people leader, this role establishes strategic goals and direction for a team of leaders establishing priorities for warehousing and the delivery/distribution of parts for Alaska Airlines. This role oversees a tiered parts distribution structure through the Alaska Airlines flight network, to ensure parts and material are provided for efficient airline operations.
Key Duties

Establish strategic goals and direction for team of Supply Ops leaders and direct material control activities to ensure parts and material are provided for efficient airline operations while maintaining appropriate and economical levels of inventory.

Set long-term strategy for monitoring of inventory systems, including all related computer systems, and ensures automated processes and formulas are consistent with the requirements of the operation and inventory management is efficient and economical. (own function with 12+ month horizon)

Establish warehousing and manpower to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities through out the Alaska Airlines system.

Evaluates and implements improvements and additions to current material control systems.

Partners with Finance/Accounting and Maintenance departments to ensure accurate inventory quantity, locations, and valuations are reflected in all inventory tracking and accounting systems.

Evaluates and improves material receiving and distribution processes to reduce cycle time and ensure efficient and effective material management and operations.

Ensures parts removed for maintenance actions and other unserviceable parts are efficiently processed through to repair agencies or in-house shops.

Serves as member/advisor of the DAG/CASWG (Divisional Analysis Groups/Continuous Analysis and Surveillance Working Group) and the SRB/CAS Review (Safety Review Board/Continuous Analysis and Surveillance Review) meeting, as well as the AS Maintenance Review Board.

Maintains compliance with SMS and AS safety policies and procedures, as well as federal regulations, by reporting any safety hazard or potential hazard.

Leads by example and includes SMS in daily work habits and remains current in SMS training requirements.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
-
8 years of experience in in material planning, supply ops, warehouse management or related area.

5 years of people leadership experience, with at least 2 years of directly leading people.

A Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of this degree.

Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and oversight functions.

Ability to develop new ideas to improve safety, compliance, efficiency, and cost.

Superior ability to present complex problems and situations to senior/executive leadership and to drive resolutions with limited guidance.

Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change cross-divisionally for mutually beneficial strategic and operational impact.

Strong communication (e.g., verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create collaborative relationships that drive outcomes in the best interest of the company, with others in the organization, and with key external business partners.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.)

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Minimum age of 18.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred

Experience with using an inventory management software platform and inventory control.

Knowledge of dangerous goods shipping procedures (IATA & CFR 49) along with experience of handling, storage and shipping Dangerous Goods.

Familiar with OSHA/EPA regulations; warehouse experience

Familiar with IAM (International Association of Machinists) labor agreements or experience in a bargaining unit environment

Salary Range
$157,700 - $252,300 / year
Total Target Compensation Range (incl. bonus & equity)
$206,810.00 - $329,790.00
Salary Details
The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
