In the role of Export Compliance Officer, you'll play a pivotal part in providing export compliance support for products and data handled by Safran Electrical & Power USA, LLC to ensure compliance with government standards and regulations. You'll have the opportunity to facilitate and implement proactive export compliance solutions and maintain classification of all export compliance items and data. This position contributes to our vision by:
• Manage licenses and associated recordkeeping in accordance with government standards and regulations and assists in administrating audit activities.
• Assigns Schedule B and HTS classification codes;
• Partners with the responsible engineering resource/Purchasing to determine classification of ITAR or EAR items;
• Determines U.S. Government license requirements including the applicability of exemptions or exceptions for proposed export/imports;
• Assists in preparation of export/import license applications, agreements, Commodity Classification Requests (CCR), general correspondence and other forms of requests in a timely manner to satisfy export/import due dates and deadlines;

Education and/or Experience
• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Law, or related field and 3 years of experience in Export Compliance.
Knowledge/Skills
• Ability to perform site assessments and audits - Advanced
• Ability to work independently Excellent prioritization and organization skills - Advanced
• Proficient PC skills including Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Adobe – Advanced
• Knowledge in AES Direct (Automated Export System) - Advanced
• Knowledge in DTRADE (Electronic licensing system used by the DDTC – Directorate of Defense Trade Controls) - Advanced
• Knowledge SNAP-R system (Electronic licensing system used by BIS – Bureau of Industry and Security)- Advanced
• Knowledge in using US Census Foreign Trade Schedule B system - Advanced
• Knowledge in using US International Trade Commission HTS online reference tool - Advanced
• Knowledge in interpreting the USML, CCL, Schedule B, and HTS information – Advanced
