Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides project management expertise on high-profile procurement and business development projects.
Manages a team of Sourcing Analysts.
Directly responsible for a subset of categories, including developing the sourcing strategy, identifying suppliers, and measuring and tracking performance. Acts as the Procurement owner for assigned customer projects, menu presentations, RFP's, cycle changes.
Analyzes procurement and financial data for supply chain to identify savings opportunities including supplier rationalization, and aggregation of products.
Directs the development of sourcing strategies for assigned work group, including analysis of current and future needs, and analysis of opportunities to leverage changes in processes and systems.
Negotiates and manages national and regional supply contracts for various product categories and ensures renewal of supply agreements in a timely manner.
Acts as the Subject matter expert in the use of strategic sourcing tools to execute RFIs and RFPs.
Monitors ongoing effectiveness of the current supply base and manage supplier issues.
Assures compliance with required corporate, local agency and federal government guidelines for proper sanitation, food handling and temperature control (HACCP) practices at partner Suppliers.
Consistently maintains a professional image in all relationships and interactions with suppliers, customers, and other employees.
Keeps up to date on market trends and commodity impacts to identify and understands potential risks to material cost and/or quality.
Interfaces with manufacturers and distributors to gather new product and service information.
Assists and trains Sourcing Analysts to ensure compliance with central purchasing programs, specifications, and other related activities.
Manages day-to-day project communications, coordinate and assigns the workload amongst the Sourcing Analysts Team and ensures timely and accurate completion of projects.
Drives productivity improvements within area of responsibility.
Develops performance objectives and conduct annual reviews with direct reports and participates in career planning and development discussions with direct reports and mentor high potential employees.
Creates environment for an actively participate in the attraction and retention of high-performance employees.
Performs special projects and other duties as required.
Conducts and supports ad-hoc analysis.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent
Work Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in related procurement, business, project management or operations management field
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)
Proficient in using Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project
Demonstrated project management skills
Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to reduce complex issues to basic components
Professional verbal and written correspondence skills
Language / Communication Skills:
Strong written and oral communications
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to communicate & influence management
Work well in a team environment
Multi-lingual a plus
