Job Description:
The L3Harris Space & Sensors (S&S) Business Development Specialist will play a key role in the execution of Space & Sensors business strategies through the pursuit and capture of significant new business opportunities. L3Harris Space & Sensors is seeking applicants with the confidence and drive necessary to take on challenging assignments, create and lead the organization’s top technical, operational, and business cross functional teams to win more than our fair share of new business opportunities. Space & Sensors provides our customers with some of the world’s leading infrared sensors systems, launch avionics, and spacecraft communications.
Essential Functions:
- Develop your understanding of the US and International launch and spacecraft communications markets, grow an extensive network of contacts, and build track record of success developing and winning significant launch avionics or spacecraft communication opportunities
- Lead cross functional teams in the creation and execution of capture plans and win strategies for strategic programs across Space & Sensors and L3Harris
- Identify and utilize internal and external resources needed to execute assigned captures
- Lead the proposal team ensuring that win strategies are effectively communicated and the program plan addresses all customer requirements
- Builds the L3Harris brand through performance, customer focus, thought leadership, ethical business practices, and integrity - deliver on customer focused, business aligned commitments
- Travel 40% time
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- 2 years or more experience in major program Capture Leadership, Business Development, Program Management, and/or Engineering roles demonstrating deep understanding of the launch avionics or spacecraft communications markets and what it takes to win major programs.
- 2 years or more experience as a strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement growth strategies.
- 2 years or more experience in effectively communicating at all levels in an organization and in a customer community.
- 2 years or more experience as an effective listener as well as a clear, concise, credible speaker that inspires others
- 2 years or more experience as a team builder that fosters collaborative relationships and innovation
- Must be a United States Citizen.
- Must qualify for and receive, a US, SECRET security clearance for continuation of position after hire.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active TS or TS/SCI
- Desired background in spacecraft & launch communications, avionics, and/or sensors technologies
- High level of global business & financial acumen with broad knowledge of changing global markets
- U.S. citizen currently holding an active SECRET security clearance preferred.
