Job Summary

The Fuel Operations Analyst supports the strategy development and tactical execution of airport fuel operations and consortia management. This role leads fuel service invoice reconciliation and supports the preparation and analysis of business reviews. The Fuel Operations Analyst is a strategic problem-solver who is eager to join a dynamic Team that drives the future of Southwest.

Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison with Fuel Admin & System Support (FASS) Team for data analytics, dashboard development, and automation in support of process improvement
- Analyze and present data in a meaningful way to support decision making and Team initiatives
- Develop an understanding of fuel consortia and into-plane environments to identify best practices to help drive value
- Assist with and/or lead the administration of the fuel manual, fuel training, and fuel supplier performance programs; and other initiatives as directed by Fuel Operations Leadership
- Review, approve, and process fuel service invoices
- Performs some critical spend and market analysis and supports data gathering for supplier business reviews
- Participates in business reviews to learn coaching techniques to help suppliers achieve key performance indicators
- Supports Team on internal special projects as directed by Fuel Operations Leadership
- Develops relationships with suppliers and seeks out educational opportunities to build a web of resources in the industry
- May perform other job duties as directed by Fuel Operations Leadership
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving fuel by, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
- Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to generate or use different sets of rules for combining or grouping things in different ways
- Ability to use resources to learn, understand, and investigate issues in support of solving complex problems
- Ability to ask questions to identify internal and external stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in: Accounting, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain or Oil, Gas Midstream activities or related field
- Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
- Ability to work extended hours as needed including: nights, weekends, and holidays
- Some travel may be required
Pay & Benefits
Competitive market salary from$76,500.00 to $85,000.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement. For eligible leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
