Technical Operations
Technical Operations includes the maintenance, and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.
Job Overview And Responsibilities
Technical Operations Reliability team ensures United operates safely and dependably by analyzing aircraft defects and operational disruptions. The team monitors trends to notify maintenance and engineering teams of emerging issues and probable corrective actions.
The Analyst - Reliability will be assisting in data curation and creating and maintaining reliability datasets and dashboards. The role will help support the reliability engineering and tech services teams by providing accurate information and useful insights to help make better data-driven decisions. They will be ensure appropriate support systems are in place for identifying root causes of key aircraft issues through reporting and analysis. They will develop, test, and deliver scheduled and adhoc reports to meet business requirements.
- Conducts routine and ad-hoc complex customer, operational and commercial analyses across various areas within United Express to support key business and operational decisions
- Supports problem solving, tool development and process improvement activities to help streamline reporting, analysis and measurement functions across the UAX organization and provide dashboards and tools to the business.
- Work closely with the United Express team to identify areas for improvement and track the impact of implemented changes
- Help prepare operational reports for the morning Operations Debrief Calls

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field
- At least 3-4 years of experience in aviation/data analysis or related fields; or At least 3-4 years of experience in any analytical field
- Superior attention to accuracy and detail
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially MS Excel and Powerpoint
- Ability to do drill down analysis to identify operational root causes
- Ability to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume data
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
Preferred
- Master's degree
- Prior airline / aviation experience
- Familiarity with using database querying tools, such as SQL, and data visualization/ reporting tools preferred
- Ability to design and track meaningful operational metrics preferred
