About you
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Specialist Security Engineer with a strong background in ICT security accreditation and certification, particularly within the Australian Defence context. You have a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related field and are passionate about using your expertise to influence decision- making and advise on technical challenges. With your deep understanding of the Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), you are adept at driving the security processes needed to ensure compliance with defence standards. Your ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders, including defence agencies and ICT vendors, will enable you to address security concerns and maintain high security standards across Defence ICT systems.
About the role
As a Specialist Security Engineer at Babcock, you will leverage your specialist technical expertise to inform critical decision- making and provide expert advice across the business. Your core duties will include conducting thorough technical investigations and analyses to provide data that drive decision- making. You will play a key role in driving the accreditation and certification processes for Defence ICT systems, ensuring compliance with ISM and PSPF guidelines. The role will require you to conduct security assessments, risk analyses, and audits to evaluate ICT systems, and develop and implement security policies, procedures and controls that align with defence standards. Collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders will be key, ensuring that Defence ICT are secure, compliant, and meet the highest security standards. To be successful in this position you will bring:
- Significant experience in ICT subsystems
- Relevant degree in IT, Cyber Security or Engineering
- Excellent technical communication skills- written and verbal
- Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Security Clearance, as defined by AGSVA guidelines
