For our EMEA Headquarters in Amsterdam we are currently seeking to recruit Sr. Accounting Analyst. The purpose of this position is to develop the accounting department of the JV ECTS business operations with a focus on systems and processes, as they pertain to accounting entries and financial results.
The role is based in Amsterdam.
Sr. Accounting Analyst
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Ensure that ECTS Group complies with Parent Company’s regulations and professional standards
- Analyzes Oracle/QNE/system reports, transactions, documents, emails, statements, etc. to ensure accuracy of accounting information relating to, sales, training, and other business operations.
- Prepares, enters, analyzes, downloads, summarizes and manages Oracle/QNE/system entries, text, updates, clearing functions and correcting entries for assigned areas,
- Help the development and implementation of the accounting activities and process at the JVs.
- Responsible for managing the preparation and distribution of financial statements with related footnote disclosures for external use.
- Month-end entries: Monthly journal entry bookings and GL reconciliations
- JV Intercompany reconciliations.
- Provides written and verbal instructions, and follow-up until resolved for configuration and transaction issues that generate accounting entries with the other JVs
- Creates and reviews reports of business operations, for the partners from the JV.
- Analyzes indicators of business activity.
- Creates and maintains documentation of policies, procedures and work instructions. Manage schedules, documentation and support for internal and external audit activities.
- Coordinates between ECTS Finance/Accounting, Embraer business areas & the partner to facilitate communication of financial implications related to process changes, new business requirements and exceptions.
- Supports the other JVs.
- Analyzes system trial balances, entries, transactions, to ensure compliance and recommends corrective actions when needed to assigned areas.
- Research and document ECTS Group accounting issues to ensure compliance.
- Generate and reviews reports of business operations outside of Embraer to assist in Benchmarking activities, identifying improvement opportunities and to support special projects.
- Documents improvement opportunities in operational and financial areas.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
Profile of the suitable Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. CPA / MBA preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in a specialized functional discipline in general accounting activities or analysis including evaluation of systems and process controls. Consultant Level Individual Contributor on a functional group.
- Experience with variance analysis, performance measurement and analytical evaluations are required.
- Experience with audit examinations, internal controls documentation, process improvements and lean initiatives is desired. 1-2 years of public accounting experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge in a specialty area and in all other interrelated tasks and responsibilities of the job function.
- Role takes leadership for applying new processes and skills to improve the function's status quo.
- Strong knowledge of finance fundamentals (budget & analysis).

- Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access),

- Fluent in English is mandatory, ability to speak Portuguese or any other European language is of great advantage.
