This role is a senior management position within the programme management organisation. Reporting to the Director of Commercial Modifications, this role will support the programme management team to deliver products and services to our customers. The position would suit candidates with previous experience of managing teams within aerospace environments.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day management of the programme management team
- Develop and execute portfolio level plans to achieve operational and financial goals
- Provided input to, and implements strategy set by the business
- Establishes and implements Programme Management Best Practice (PMBP)
- Defines and manages staged gate processes and integrates into master project schedules
- Set metrics and KPI’s that will drive the business forward and create a culture of success
- Champion work standardisation to reduce process flow time
- Portray the customers’ expectations and requirements to the business to ensure alignment
- Communicate program status and on-going financial viability to the business
- Support the creation of commercial proposals in response to customer requests
- Identify key risks and issues to the business, and implement plans to minimise of mitigate impacts
- Provide weekly status updates, milestone schedules and risk analysis summaries to senior leaders
- Support functional excellence of people, processes and tools to drive productivity improvements and spread best practice throughout the team
- Undertake continuous improvement initiatives and implement lessons learned from contracted projects
- Support the programme management team to ensure that projects are executed to plan and on budget
- Ensure on time delivery targets are met or exceeded
- Recruit, train and develop team members through all stages of their careers.
- Create succession plans to ensure continuity of team capability
- Maintain capacity plans to ensure there are sufficient team members to manage workload and advise on when new work can be accommodated
- Engage with leaders from other functions to ensure the business is aligned to meet programme objectives
Work Authorisation:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the UK. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants.
Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll. This position does not have relocation approval.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Qualification in Program Management or equivalent preferred (PMP or CPM, etc.)
Experience of aircraft modification / integration projects
A demonstrated record of accomplishment managing team members and growing & building highly effective teams.
Minimum 10 Years Of Applicable Experience In Required
Proficient in all MS Office applications required, including MS Project
Ability to travel, sometimes at short notice
Able to work independently without high levels of supervision (self-motivated)
Ideally have a minimum BS Degree in a STEM field and/or at least 10 years' experience in a related commercial or military aerospace business
