The Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative
Environment Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to be based at RAF Odiham. This position will further complement the existing EHS team with consideration of the growth of Boeing activities in the UK. The purpose of the role will be to provide practical support to management and employees to enable us to achieve a high standard of EHS performance at this location and provide support for other locations within the region as required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares compliance and technical reports to meet Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
- Acts as primary site collaborate with regulatory agencies. Prepares and submits permit applications.
- Performs program reviews, investigates incidents and provides corrective action to prevent re occurrence of incidents.
- Evaluates workplace hazards. Provides input to new business opportunities and facilities projects to ensure compliance.
- Conducts education and training to support regulatory and business requirements.
- Evaluates impact of new regulations on company operations.
- Reviews vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals.
- Covers the Boeing operation at RAF Odiham along with support for other sites within the region and travels to other sites as directed.
- Provides day-to-day EHS support for risk assessment, EHS procedures, communications, EHS inspections, induction training, EHS observations, emergency procedures, accident investigations, as well as environmental compliance and sustainability.
- Works closely with the rest of the regional EHS team.
Required Qualifications:
- Has a nationally recognised qualification in Health and Safety at a minimum of level 3.
- Possesses skills in terms of the ability to influence people, communication, problem solving, pragmatism and flexibility.
- Has good level of general IT skills.
Additional Qualifications:
- Aircraft hangar maintenance environment experience would be beneficial.
Work Authorisation: This position does not have sponsorship approval. This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate will be expected to undergo an Intrusive Security Clearance Process, which will require 5 years uninterrupted residency in the UK prior to applying.
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
