Job Description:
The primary function of the ILS Engineer is to develop logistics support material and a logistics support strategy that influences the engineering design process in order to improve product reliability and maintainability, lower life cycle cost and decrease the demand for logistics support.
- Responsible for Installation, testing, operation, Set-To-Work (STW), Harbor Acceptance Test (HAT), Sea Acceptance Test (SAT), and Operator and Maintenance Training of Periscope and Optronic System of US and International Submarines.
- Review project/contract Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Reliability & Maintainability (R&M), Safety, and Human Factors requirements, and plan related analyses and activities.
- Perform in process ILS reviews with customers and program management.
- Develop ILS, R&M, Safety, and Human Factors documentation including relevant plans, scheduled/corrective maintenance procedures, spare parts lists, and tools & test equipment lists.
- Prepare training plans and training curriculum, and present training courses.
- Contribute to the development of Technical Manuals and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.
- Contribute to the development of the Standard Parts Catalog, and support part selection for product design efforts and obsolescence analyses.
- Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, and techniques.
- Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
Essential Functions:
- Host customer meetings On-Site with the US. Navy (CM/ILS Working Group, Obsolescence)
- Participate in Navy Management Working Group and Program Status Review Meetings On-site
- Ability to travel, working extended hours.
- Provide classroom Training and Maintenance Demonstrations On-Site
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (ability to assist training customers on system operation and maintenance)
- Works well with management, peers and the customer, also able to work independently
- In support of the development of ILS products, the following experience is beneficial: experience with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Office, Abobe Illustrator and Structured Authoring Software
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Secret Clearance or meets eligibility requirements to aquire a secret clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Lead Integrated Product Team (IPT) Meetings
- Proficient in MS Office, Strong communication and Technical Writing Skills
- Familiarization with Microsoft Access is a Plus
- Familiar with PowerLOGJ software to support the integration and review of Logistics Management Information (LMI) Data and managing Logistics Support Analysis (LSA).
