The role
As the Diversity & Inclusion Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll support the transformation of our people experience globally, specifically in developing strategies and programs that foster an inclusive workplace, support employee networks, and strengthen social impact efforts. Driving the actions needed to make real meaningful change.
Day-to-day, you’ll collaborate with leadership and SMEs, this role will help to build trust and our people to feel valued. Reporting to Head of Culture & Engagement with a dotted line to Group Sustainability Director, this role will ensure close collaboration between the two areas, creating a strong, productive, and invaluable connection. You’ll also:
• Provide thought leadership and strategic thinking around Inclusion and Social Sustainability, enabling others to understand and engage with a future vision that benefits business outcomes
• Work with our HR Comms and People Experience team to develop and execute internal and external communications strategy that promotes inclusion and social sustainability initiatives
• Track and analysing data on set metrics and indicators, providing insights and data driven recommendations to leadership ensuring informed action can be taken
• Work with the relevant parts of the business to define and agree key initiatives to deliver strategic priorities, including setting simple achievable targets and seeing them through to delivery
• Collaborate with HR, the sustainability team, and other relevant parts of the business to embed inclusion and social objectives into core business processes and policies
This role is full time and is adaptable and can be delivered from various locations including Bristol, Leicester, Plymouth & Rosyth. The role also requires regular travel across a range of internal and customer sites on a weekly/monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Diversity & Inclusion Lead:
• Experience working in a related subject e.g., L&D, ED&I, Social Sustainability, EX or Employee Engagement. Driving and delivering Inclusion, Social and communities initiatives, preferably globally in a complex, multidisciplinary business
• A track record of successfully implementing new approaches and activities from conception and design to in place and working, both directly and through others
• Experience working within defined governance processes and meeting legislative requirements. With a strong understanding of issues and best practices relating to topics such as, social responsibility, communities, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
• Strong communication and influencing skills. Able to create and present practical and actionable evidence-led insights to leaders with experience of working effectively and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, across borders
• To be a creative thinker. A positive, engaged, and passionate self-starter. Able to think at a strategic level developing practical solutions and partnering the business with a hands-on approach
