Job Description:
Specialist, Configuration Management is a critical specialty engineering role that performs configuration management functions to establish consistency of product performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information. The primary goal of this role is to maintain the integrity of system documentation, drawings, design artifacts, baselines, records, and associated configuration information using established configuration processes and controls. This role also provides on-demand support to various engineering and program management teams as a subject matter expert for analyses, consultations, special topic discussions, tools support, and other tasking as required.
Essential Functions:

- Develop and modify Configuration Management processes and procedures and ensure that they are followed on all projects
- Review and provide feedback on configuration and design aspects of documentation releases
- Analyze change notices to technical product documentation to determine the effect on programs
- Administer CM tools used to store, track and manage configuration items
- Support performing audits to ensure adherence to CM processes and procedures
- Update technical documentation per CNs where applicable
- Management and administration of the source CAD data product data management
- Management of full product detail including engineering and manufacturing technical documentation
- Assist in training document management system users
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
- Actively participate in internal and customer audits
- Cross train with other functions within the department
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate/Master’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- At least 4 years of CM experience
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience professionally applying the principles of EIA-649
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools, such as Costpoint, at a proficient level.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience using issue tracking tools such as JIRA, at a proficient level.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience using MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint at a proficient level.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- CMPIC certification
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience working with engineering drawing standards (ASME, ANSI, IEEE, etc.)
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience using CAD and PDM tools such as SolidWorks/Windchill, at a proficient level.
- Advanced level knowledge and use of the following:
- CMMi
- Costpoint ERP
- Teamcenter PLM
- SolidWorks
- SharePoint
- Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, science, IS or business from an accredited college or university is preferred.
