Airbus Robotics is looking for a Principal Systems Architect to join our Engineering team based in Mukilteo, WA.

Annual Salary range of $158,000-185,000 based on applicant profile.
Your challenges:
1. Make high-level decisions regarding the design and architecture of complex systems in support of automated aircraft manufacturing systems, ensure the technical solutions align with the high-level system goals and constraints, drawing on a deep understanding of systems engineering principles and patterns. 20%
2. Set the technical direction for complex systems project, laying the foundational blueprint that guides development teams toward building scalable, maintainable, and high-performing systems applications 20%
3. Interfacing with the PMs, PMO and customers to understand the user stories and desired functionality of the products 15%
4. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into system design 15%
5. Lead the architectural aspects of systems development and providing guidance to development teams 10%
6. Interface with technical leadership within Software, Controls, and Mechanical to ensure system requirements are met 10%
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Drive the design process of new systems and architectures and inform the development of better programming practices and procedures. 5%
2. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to articulate the architecture and design principles 5%
3. Develops, plans, and executes projects and leads two or more engineers technically. Guides and trains other members of the project team. Assists in career development of one or more senior engineers. Drives major learning and training initiatives within the organization.

Required
- Bachelor of Science in Robotics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
Experience:
Required
- 13-20 years of experience in conjunction with a bachelor’s degree, or combination of Master/PhD and experience.
- Five or more years of experience crafting the high-level design choices and frameworks that underpin systems applications.
- Demonstrated discipline and organizational skills with respect to systems maintenance and version management.
- Experience preparing systems schedules and budgets and the ability to accurately forecast level of effort required for complex systems development efforts.
- The interpersonal skills and knowledge to work within an engineering development team that spans multiple disciplines (electrical, mechanical, software engineering), including communicating with non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with agile project management methods and tools including Jira.
Preferred
- Proficiency in systems design and controls engineering
- Proficiency with PLC architecture and programming
- Proficiency in programming in C/C++
- Experience programming with JavaScript and .NET C#
- Experience programming with Typescript, Json, React and Node
- Experience in most of the following protocols: REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, Websockets, CAN, I2C, SPI, RS-232, RS-485.
- Proficient in reading/interpreting JSON and XML
- Understanding of robotic systems and systems development and deployment for automation applications
