Job Description:
Responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations which may include skilled hand work or utilizing automated production equipment. Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms and documents. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Assemble electronic sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
- Read and understand Engineering drawings as well as manufacturing work instructions.
- Perform all product build processes and work on any product directed by management to meet business needs.
- Manual and automated underfill, bonding and staking.
- Touchup and application of conformal/Parylene coating.
- Participate/engage in team meetings.
- Work on windows-based programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Current certification to IPC A610 and JSTD 001 is preferred but not necessary upon hire. Successful candidate will receive internal training as necessary and will be required to pass IPC A610 and JSTD 001 solder and rework certification tests.
- General knowledge of Lean or demand flow manufacturing practices would be helpful.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with team members.
- Close attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrated problem solving techniques.
- Basic computer skills.
