Job Description:
The ISR Chief Engineer of our Armed Overwatch progam is responsible for the day-to-day tactical/technical duties for the assigned program area. The Chief Engineer will oversee and coordinate the execution of the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the respective Program Area. In addition, the Chief Engineer will:
- Serve as single point-of-contact to corresponding Program Executive.
- Review status of engineering projects and budgets; manage schedules, prepare bids/proposals and prepare status reports.
- Assess engineering project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring engineering project progress and for intervention and problem solving with individual program Project Engineers, functional managers, and Customers.
- Provide the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
- Conduct performance/project analyses during phase-down to benefit future/other engineering projects, missions, and programs.
Essential Functions:
- Organize, lead and develop a team of diverse high performing Engineers
- Coordinate with sector/division/business program management, supply chain, adjacent engineering and operation teams to define priorities for engineering and resources
- Program planning, guidance and execution
- Implement IMS policies, procedures and standards for Engineering
- Establish, monitor and measure key performance measures and provide regular updates to Engineering and General Management Executives
- Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement and cost reduction
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with fifteen (15) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Leadership and people management experience
- Experience in aviation industry and design to value engineering
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Travel as required, up to 30%
